Every summer, the Programs to Educate All Cyclists (PEAC) holds their Summer Cycling Program. The aim is to help empower individuals with disabilities through cycling. This year, the program is looking for instructors to help keep the program rolling!
This year, there will be site locations in the Downriver community and in Washtenaw County. Each site will meet either once or twice a week from June through August. Each site will have one Site Coordinator and two instructors.
Students in the program will learn a variety of cycling skills. This will range from learning basic balance to more complex bike handling skills. Anyone of the age five and older is encouraged to join. Students will come from all backgrounds, with many having physical or cognitive abilities while others just never learned to ride a bike.
As a cycling instructor, you’d be leading students through planned activities, games, and rides while maintaining a positive attitude. You’ll be helping people in our community learn important skills to help them maintain independence and travel around our community safely.
