The State Theatre is hosting private screenings for patrons who miss going to see movies, with safety precautions.
Movie goers rejoice! The State Theatre is hosting private screenings for those interested in renting out a movie theatre.
Come enjoy seeing your favorite movie on the big screen in the privacy of your very own movie theatre. You, your friends, and your family can make the most out of what the newly-renovated Art Deco State Theatre has to offer.
The base rental fee is $125 per hour with a three hour minimum. Although it seems like a high price, the rental fee includes the theatre’s manager, custodial services, film license fee, and the screening of the film itself. Patrons are asked to bring their own BlueRay or DVD, or to select a movie from their selection. Each private showing can host up to 26 people.
Additionally, the theatre is opening up with safety precautions in place. These precautions follow the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services guidelines. Based on this, masks are required to be worn at all times, including in your seat. Additionally, no food or drink is permitted into the theatre. There will also be a theatre staff member upon entry who will provide health screenings, which will be in the form of screening questions and temperature checks with a contactless thermometer. The response will be recorded on a master list of event attendees in order to facilitate any further or potential contact tracing. Anyone who refuses to participate in the questionnaire or follow safety protocols will be denied entry.
