We accept gently used cabinets, windows, doors, lighting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, furniture, appliances, architectural salvage items, tools, lawn and garden items, household items, televisions, paint, painting supplies, hardware, home décor, and more. By donating to the ReStore, you are diverting over 200 tons of materials from landfills per year. Stop & Shop! We sell all of these items at 50-75% off of their retail prices to the public, seven days a week. Drop off your old electronics for free recycling as well! By shopping at the ReStore, you are reusing and recycling all of these materials, and reducing your carbon footprint.

From efforts to re-use and recycle program books and willingness to carpool on our luxury coaches from Oakland County, the patrons of UMS have shown that a commitment to the arts and a commitment to the environment can go hand in hand. Joshua Bell and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields will receive the 2012 UMS Distinguished Artist Award in a brief ceremony as part of the season-ending concert on Sunday, April 22 at 4 pm in Hill Auditorium. UMS will offer luxury coach transportation from Oakland County to Ann Arbor for this performance. Round-trip cost is only $10 per person!

The Ann Arbor PTO Thrift Shop makes it easy to be "green". Donations of sellable items provide inventory to the non-profit resale shop on S. Industrial Hwy. Items are resold, generating funding for AAPS students. Restrictions on acceptable donations help reduce waste initially. Then, once items are accepted, the “Waste Knot” Award-winner sells, reuses, or recycles them. These green choices keep costs lower and school funding higher.
