The Henry Ford Museum is proud to announce Imagination Unlimited, a Jim Henson Exhibit. The exhibit is set to take place from June 5 until September 6, so be sure to pick up your tickets!
Jim Henson created iconic puppet characters and stories for film and television that left an indelible mark on popular culture. His work, which spans four decades, gave gentle subversive humor, restless curiosity, and innovative approach to puppetry. His characters span staple shows that we watch today, including Sesame Street. He also made movies where he applied his vivid imagination to give us stories on the big screen like none before.
The Jim Henson exhibit will explore Henson’s unique contributions to the moving image, and how he and a talented team of designers, performers, and writers built an unparalleled body of work that continues to delight and inspire people of all ages today.
The exhibit will include a variety of things. You’ll have a chance to check out:
- More than 100 original artifacts, including 25 of Henson’s puppets.
- Character sketches, storyboards, scripts, costumes, and photographs
- Film and television clips
- Behind-the-scenes footage
- Interactive puppeteering experiences.
Admission to the exhibit is free for all Henry Ford Museum members. Pricing for nonmembers will vary by age. General admission is $25, seniors (62+) are $22.50, Youth (5-11) is $18.75, and children 4 and under are free.
