Outlier Events and the Kalamazoo Growlers are excited to announce the Barks & Brews Festival, set to take place on August 28. Enjoy this beer festival with your family’s best and fuzziest members.
Outlier Events and the Kalamazoo Growlers have worked together on a few events previously, organizing the Donut and Beer Festival and Mac and Cheese Festival to name a few. This time around, they want to bring a food and drink festival that will also include your furry friends, making it the first beer festival that your dog is invited to.
Barks & Brews Festival
There will be plenty of food and drinks for humans and canines alike. There will be dog beers, treats, ice cream, photos, and entertainment for everyone (literally). The event will take place on Homer Stryker Field, home of the Kalamazoo Growlers.
Well-behaved K9s are encouraged to tag along for the day. “As a dog owner myself, I am excited to turn the ballpark into a dog park for the day and allow others to have that experience,” explains Nick Stoglin, Director of Special Events with Outlier Events. “We don’t usually allow dogs on the field so it will be a unique experience for everyone involved. It is fulfilling for us to try something new, and celebrate dog owners and their companions.”
Food trucks and other vendors will serve a variety of delicious food on site. There will be a beer tent with a large selection of craft beers from local breweries through IHS Distributing. Designated Driver tickets are also available for those choosing not to enjoy the beer tent.
Festival-goers can get a head start on the event with VIP tickets. These tickets will allow early entry at 1pm and can stay at the event until it closes at 7pm. General Admission ticket holders will gain entry to the event from 2 to 7pm. All attendees will receive food and drink sampling tokens with their tickets along with a souvenir cup.
