The Ann Arbor Summer Festival is finalizing plans for the upcoming concert season. Here is the start of the summer and what’s to come!
The Ann Arbor Summer Festival (A2SF) has announced its plans to move forward with this year’s summer festivities. However, a few changes have been made to ensure the safety of our community.
This year, the A2SF has announced that they do not plan to hold activities at Top of the Park on Ingalls Mall and indoor ticketed events. Instead, A2SF will be running the first of their anchor programs for the 2021 season. These two programs will run between June 11 and July 3, 2021.
The first program is Tiny TOPs. These are intimate concerts that you can reserve for yourself or gift to a friend or loved one. Beginning in May, you can choose from a roster of 20 artists and select a time for that artist to play at an outdoor location of your choice.
The second is Live Here Now. These are pop-up concerts and events that will take place in public outdoor spaces throughout Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.
“We are renewing our commitment to creating ways for our community to safely come together-in person,” says Executive Director Mike Michelon. “Organizing more intimate experiences throughout Washtenaw County with Tiny TOPs and Live Here Now will allow us to better manage crowd sizes and safety protocols while bringing arts experiences to more members of the community.”
Safety protocols and managing crowd sizes will be the top priority for A2SF. A2SF is also renewing its commitment to creating safe ways for our community to safely come together in-person.
Artists are encouraged to apply to perform for Tiny TOPs and Live Here Now. Those interested can apply on the A2SF website here.
A2SF will announce its full season and artists line-up at the beginning of May.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for new information about our summer events! We look forward to seeing you (from a distance) soon!
