ypsiGLOW 2020 Offers Fun and Safe Events for the Community

Come enjoy our bright and vibrant community with ypsiGLOW events on October 23.

ypsiGLOW is a community-built celebration to showcase Ypsialnti’s creativity and diversity with light-filled luminary processions, crazy costumes, public art installations, street art performances, music, dancing, and all the GLOWing fun you can imagine! To showcase our community, ypsiGLOW will be hosting free community art-making workshops and activities for all ages and abilities to help you GLOW. Expect to see downtown Ypsi, Depot Town, West Cross Street, the Downtown and Whittaker Road Ypsilanti Library, EMU Convocation Center, and wherever you are to light up!

Put on your greatest costume and mask for a night of fun!

GLOW kits for Ypsi kids

GLOW Action Kits will help ypsilanti youth get ready for ypsiGLOWwith free art-making projects and materials. Kits will be available for pick up from Monday, October 12 until Friday, October 23 at the following locations. Times for pick up may vary from location.

  • Arbor Manor / Forrest Knoll Apartments – 693 Arbor Drive
  • Corner Health Center – 47 N. Huron Street
  • EMU Bright Futures + Ypsilanti Community Schools (various sites)
  • HOPE Clinic – 518 Harriet Street
  • Kekere Freedom School
  • Ozone House Drop-In Center – 102 N. Hamilton Street
  • Sauk Trail Pointe Apartments – 928 W. Michigan Avenue
  • Ypsilanti District Library – Downtown – 229 W. Michigan Avenue
  • Ypsilanti District Library – Whittaker – 5577 Whittaker Road

Pick up is available October 12 to 23. Call beforehand to ensure pick up times are open.

Ypsi Water Tower to GLOW

This year, the Ypsilanti Water Tower will be taking part in the ypsiGLOW events by lighting up! From Monday, October 12 until Friday, October 23, the historic Water Tower we all know and love will shine brightly for the Halloween season.

Check out our colorful Water Tower every night from October 12 to 23.

Local Artists GLOW!

Amazing art installations across the heart of Ypsilanti. There will also be an ypsiGLOW pop-up market on N. Washington street for the community to come enjoy. 

EMU Drive-In Movies

Come enjoy Grease with a drive-in movie experience from EMU. EMU students and community members are invited to ypsiGLOW’s drive-in event. Enjoy a fun night of GLOWing swag, food, popcorn, surprises, and a great movie. The premiere of GLOW TV featuring the amazing creativity of Ypsi artists and youth will open for the main movie attraction. Keep in mind, this event is weather dependent. Parking lot opens at 6:15pm.

ypsiGLOW Favorites Return

The YDL Spidermobile, Stark Hearse, and Wolfpack Cruizers will be returning for the fun. The only thing missing is you!
