The Blue LLama Jazz Club welcomes back the all-female 3D Jazz Trio with two in-person shows and a livestream concert on May 7. Additionally, patrons can enjoy a menu featuring Chef Louis Goral’s curated Tasting Menu. The 3D Jazz Trio features the talents of Sherrie Maricle, Amy Shook, and Jackie Warren.
From the drum set, Sherrie Maricel leads The DIVA Jazz Orchestra, her quintet FIVE PLAY, and co-leads the 3Divas. She’s performed with The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall and is a music director and drummer for Broadway star Maurice Hines. She’s a talented freelance performer and a published composer/arranger.
Amy Shook is one of the most in-demand bassists in the mid-Atlantic. People seek her talents in creating a huge sound and infections, driving groove. On top of being a premier performing and recording artist, she’s also an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music educator. Shook co-leads the Shook/Russo 4tet, a band she started in 2004 with her husband Pat Shook (tenor saxophonist) and Frank Russo (drummer).
Jackie Warren is a Colorado native and pianist. She studied classical piano at Oberlin Conservatory and graduated with a B.M. in performance. She studied jazz arranging, composition, and theory with Director of Jazz Studies Wendell Logan. Although Warren regularly performs as a soloist, she has her own jazz trio.
Patrons are invited out for a night of fun, food, dance, and merriment. The Blue LLama Jazz Club has opened advanced tickets, which are available for “Dinner and a Show.” They’ll be open from 6-11pm, with the two live sets at 7pm and 9pm on May 7.
