A public presentation and sale of works by Mignonette Yin Cheng is being hosted by The Michigan Art Gallery at Schmidt’s Antiques both in-person and virtually.
The Michigan Art Gallery is excited to announce a public presentation and sale of works by renowned area artist Mignonette Yin Cheng (1933-2009). The exhibit, entitled “Her Joyful Eye,” features an encompassing collection showcasing Mignonette Yin Cheng’s use of color, technique, and form to interpret the physical world.
The exhibit will open with a virtual preview on Sunday, November 7 at 6pm. The Art Gallery Show and Sale will be open to the public — both in-person and online — and begin Sunday, November 1 at Noon. The exhibition will be available for online and live public viewing beginning Saturday, November 14 from Noon until Five every Saturday through December. In-person gallery visits require social distancing and masks when inside the gallery.
The selection includes large scale oil and wax emulsion on canvases, mixed media collages, and watercolors. The exhibit is composed of works from the 30 years Mignonette taught at the University of Michigan School of Art. Here, she became professor emerita of painting. The collection is a small yet meaningful representation of Mignonette Yin Cheng’s contribution to Contemporary art.
Schmidt’s Michigan Art Gallery will feature an art gallery tour here. Works will be available for purchase via email, simply email info@schmidtantiques.com with inquiries.
