Ann Arbor’s monthly arts and culture publication, Current Magazine
and Ann Arbor Family, is seeking its next editor to help guide the alternative magazine into this new era.
The assignment editor is responsible for developing the paper’s content and quality across its various social media and digital editions. While Current and Ann Arbor Family previously published one print publication per month, at this time and due to the continuing pandemic, we are currently publishing online and seeking an editor who can continue our web presence of providing more robust, active online coverage.
The next editor should have strong social and online journalism skills, with the ability to produce engaging stories throughout each month.
The editor will work with staff and freelancers to create editorial calendars and plan features, while also staying engaged in developing news stories and cultural conversations. The editor will assign stories to the staff and freelancers who are associated presently with Current and Ann Arbor Family, while always working to locate and cultivate dynamic new talent.
The editor will report to the managing editor and publishers of its parent company, Adams Street Publishing Company.
Interested applicants should possess a strong, clear vision and have a pronounced knack for communicating with a team-centric editorial voice. Experience should reflect a demonstrated track-record of managing multiple concurrent projects, as well as extreme attention to detail and skill in editing and writing stories.
Send an email with samples and resume to cjacobs@adamsstreetpublishing.
