We’ve rounded up the latest listings of openings and closings in Washtenaw County and the Ann Arbor area.


New Businesses:

The Conjure Goddess, opened in October at 226 West Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti. It was previously an online shop. The store (and gathering place for practitioners) is a supply shop for metaphysical religions (Wicca, hoodoo, voodoo and similar religions) and carries products like incense, sage, crystals and herbs. It also sells more unusual products like chicken and alligator feet.

Songbird’s second location, on the westside of Ann Arbor, (2891 Jackson Ave., Ann Arbor) has re-opened for business. 

Closing Businesses

Cultivate Coffee and Taphouse in Ypsilanti is closed indefinitely. In an open letter to the community, the owners of the Ypsilanti go-to for good food and beer said that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, along with limited space, factored into the decision

Bel-Mark Lanes (3530 Jackson Rd., Ann Arbor) is closing indefinitely in April.  The owners sold the building to an developer who plans to turn the space into a Tesla Dealership. 

 

Award winning, The Common Grill (112 S. Main St., Chelsea), is closing after 30 years in downtown Chelsea.  The owners plan to retire and hope to sell the restaurant and building to another restaurateur. The beloved restaurant will close March 13, 2022.
