The beauty of memories is that whatever ones you make remain uniquely your own. That said, our collective journeys lead us to believe the following experiences are the kinds you’re bound to hold onto and treasure. Check them out, twist, tweak, delete or add to them in any way you want, weave your own dynamic story.
- See a game at The Big House (win or lose, you’ll be part of the biggest crowd at any football game anywhere on the planet on any given Saturday).
- Eat at Blimpy Burger (preferably at least a triple, if not a quad)
- Eat a Chipati (we recommend Pizza Bob’s)
- Drink Sangria on the porch at Dominick’s (don’t wait for January for this one)
- Skate at Yost Arena (public skates are most weekdays @ noon)
- Eat at Zingerman’s Deli (avoid the long lines on weekend mornings)
- See a concert in Hill Auditorium (take advantage of the UMS student rate)
- Visit the Matthaei conservatory on a winter day (great solo, but even better with someone special)
- See a show at the Blind Pig (discover up-and-coming hip hop or rock legends of the future, say hi to the Thursday night bouncer)
- Drink a Fishbowl at Charley’s (leave your car keys at home)
- Float the Huron River (find your inner inner-tube)
- Picnic in The Arb (see parenthetical note for #8), bring a blanket
- Eat a slice at The Brown Jug (thin crust recommended
- Spin The Cube
- Munch on baked avocados @ Maiz Mexican in Ypsi. (Baja Cobb salad too)
- Paint The Rock (and be re-painted over within a few hours)
- Visit the Rare Book Room at Hatcher (see parenthetical note for #8)
- Go to Bill’s Drive-In or Kluck’s Drive-In in Ypsi (both on Michigan Ave., don’t miss Bill’s homemade root beer)
- Go sledding at Vet’s Park
- Crash a tailgate (preferably one with a dude in canary-colored pants)
- Two Scoops from Washtenaw Dairy
- Check out the view of Ann Arbor from Cedar Bend Drive off Broadway
- Attend the Ann Arbor Youth Poetry Slam Finals at The Neutral Zone (have your heart broken and mended with hope all in the same night)
- Attend at least one competition of the following U-M sports – softball, field hockey, volleyball, wrestling, men’s or women’s gymnastics, women’s lacrosse.
- Visit German Park in the summer (bring your own beer & brats)
