In anticipation of the 13-story Vic Village South high-rise project, developed by Hughes Properties, two locally-owned businesses have been replaced. The El-Awar family’s South U Pizza at 1106 S. University Ave. closed in December and their Rendezvous Hookah Lounge at 1108 S. University Ave. closed in January. Their third business, Oasis Grill, has moved across the street to 1201 S. University Ave., previously China Gate.
