Here’s what’s happening locally this month in Washtenaw County: openings, closings, and business updates in Ann Arbor, Saline, Chelsea, Dexter, Ypsilanti, Milan and more.
Openings
Buff City Soap is opening its first Washtenaw county Soap Makery at 3143 Ann Arbor-Saline Road, Ann Arbor. Their plant based soaps are handmade daily in each location. A four day grand opening will begin on Aug. 25 and include giveaways and deals.
First Watch will be opening mid-September at 3059 Oak Valley Drive, Ann Arbor. They specialize in breakfast, brunch and lunch. Alcoholic beverages will also be available at this location.
Ellie Mental Health will be opening its first Michigan location at 1601 Briarwood Circle. In-person sessions will be available mid-September, but virtual telehealth appointments have been available since the first of the month. Their mission is to normalize mental health care through their services and programs.
Closings
Jimmy John’s at 342 S. State St, Ann Arbor, has permanently closed.
Business movement:
The Relax Station’s former building at 300 W. Huron St, Ann Arbor, has recently been demolished. This massage therapy business now operates out of 1202 Packard St, Ann Arbor.
Worth noting:
Schuler Books is the new name of Nicola’s Books at 2513 Jackson Ave, AnnArbor. The bookstore is also expanding into the Old Siam restaurant space next door.
