Here’s what’s happening locally this month in Washtenaw County: openings, closings, and business updates in Ann Arbor, Saline, Chelsea, Dexter, Ypsilanti, and Milan.

OPENING:

  • Fowling Warehouse just opened a location in the Ypsi-Ann Arbor area at 3050 Washtenaw, Ypsilanti Township at the NE corner of Golfside and Washtenaw Ave (734-499-FOWL).The Fowling Warehouse is a 30,000 sq ft sports and entertainment facility where patrons can play the original Football Bowling Game “Fōwling” while enjoying a cocktail or one of over 100 beers in stock.

Cookies opened at 2460 W. Stadium Blvd. in Ann Arbor, in partnership with Gage Cannabis, to offer its marajuana products locally.

Laurel & Jack opened in March at 214 S. Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor. The boutique carries clothing for men, women and children with locations in Ada, Holland and Grand Haven.

The Upkeep Games  opened its Ann Arbor location (2121 W. Stadium Blvd., Ann Arbor), in March 2022, with board games, apparel, events, and more for the gaming world. There is also a location in Howell.  

Withington’s 112 N. Main St., Chelsea.  This new retail store in downtown Chelsea opened to offer wine, beer and goods.

Carosello Pasta opened at 3126 Broad St., Dexter. 

According to their website, “We aim to share the craft, culture, and taste of traditional Italian cooking from our kitchen to yours.” All of the pasta is made with semolina milled from American grown Organic Durum wheat & water and is non-GMO and free of synthetic herbicides and pesticides. 

CLOSING:

Dennys restaurant, located at 3310 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor, has closed permanently.

Adventures in Homebrewing (6071 Jackson Rd. Ann Arbor), offering ingredients and equipment to brew your own soda, liquor, beer, wine, and some food items at home,  has closed its retail location but remains open online. 

WORTH NOTING:

Carpenter Bros. Hardware Do It Center on the north side of Ann Arbor (2753 Plymouth Rd., Ann Arbor) is celebrating 50 years as a family owned business. 

First Fridays Ypsilanti, which originally launched in 2013, has returned as of April! First Fridays Ypsilanti’s mission is to cultivate a vibrant community connecting the arts and local businesses. The first Friday of every month, they host and promote monthly art events at various businesses in Ypsilanti.  For more information, visit their website
