Current Magazine’s Fiction and Poetry Contest

From the bustling streets of area downtowns to the quieter corners of Washtenaw County, we want to hear your take on the place we call home. Ecurrent’s Poetry & Fiction Contest is back, and we’re looking for the most creative poems and short stories that capture the spirit of Ann Arbor or Washtenaw County.

How to enter:
Write an original short story or poem (you choose!) about Ann Arbor or Washtenaw County. Keep it to 500 words or less and submit it by Saturday, November 1. Each person may submit up to two entries.

What you’ll win:
We’ll select one winner and runner up in each category (poetry and fiction). The winning pieces will be featured online in February and each winner will receive a $150 cash prize.

A few ground rules:

  • Be original — all work must be your own.
  • Sorry, no entries from Ecurrent staff or their families.
  • We reserve the right to decline anything inappropriate.
