Here’s what’s happening locally this month in Washtenaw County: openings, closings, and business updates in Ann Arbor, Saline, Chelsea, Dexter, Ypsilanti, Milan and more.
Opening
DiBella’s Subs is reopening at 904 W Eisenhower Pkwy, Ann Arbor. The restaurant previously closed in February 2022 when a fire left the building in ruins. DiBella’s is a chain with restaurants around Michigan, Ohio, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
Texacano Tex-Mex BBQ is now open at 207 E Washington St, Ann Arbor. This restaurant fuses Tex-Mex and Americana cultures in its menu and atmosphere. Their menu includes in-house tender, slow-smoked meats.
Fuel’d will hold a grand opening and ribbon cutting on June 5 at 300 N Main St., Ann Arbor. There is another location in East Lansing. They specialize in “create your own” salads and stir-fry.
Closing
Peoples Food Co-op recently closed their hot food and cafe bar at 216 N. 4th Ave., Ann Arbor. Otherwise, the store remains open.
The Georgia-Pacific plant at 951 County St., Milan is closing. As a result, there will be over 100 layoffs.
Evenstar’s Chalice, a metaphysical supply store, is closing this summer at 36 N Huron St., Ypsilanti.
Coming soon
Wing Snob, a Detroit-based wing shop, will be opening on the University of Michigan’s campus at the Michigan Union in August. Michigan Union is located at 530 S. State St., Ann Arbor.
Nu2U Again Resale is opening a second location at 3140 Carpenter Rd., Ypsilanti in July. The original location of this thrift store is located at 1311 E. Michigan Ave. in Saline.
