It’s almost fall, with brisk autumn mornings and sweater season and apples galore. For its beauty and brevity, fall might just be the most achingly beautiful season in Michigan. If you’re a person who loves to soak up every last bit of summer’s fading sun while gearing up for the colder weather, we’ve gathered our favorite Ann Arbor fall activities to do while making everything just a bit greener.
1. Make your pumpkin spice green.
Love it or hate it, fall is pumpkin spice season, and what better way to start your fall than by making this seasonal latte nice and green! You can make the ultimate pumpkin spice latte at home with a cannabis simple syrup (ideally honey), canned pumpkin, coffee, and milk–check out our favorite recipe here.
2. Go apple picking high.
Apple picking is the quintessential fall experience, and there are several orchards within easy distance of Ann Arbor, like Plymouth Orchards and Cider Mill or Alber Orchard.
Before browsing through apple trees to find the perfect apple for your pie, bring your fav edible or flower. We love these THC-infused cinnamon roasted pecans from Crave Cannabis, a great pairing for munching on apples as you pick.
3. Carve cannabis into your pumpkins.
It wouldn’t be fall without pumpkins. And carving a jack o’ lantern is often high on the “autumn things to do” list. Why not add a lighthearted nod to your enjoyment of cannabis by carving a cannabis leaf pattern in your pumpkin, or using a cannabis leaf pattern as the eyes on your scary face carving?

4. Apple cider, infused.
Apple cider is quintessential fall, and what better way to hang with your buds on a chilly autumn evening near a fire than with a piping hot mug of infused apple cider? Make it mulled for an even more spicy and aromatic experience.
Simply pair your favorite fresh cider and mulled spices or a sprinkle of cinnamon with your desired tincture dosage; we love this subtle tincture from Skymint which allows your cider’s spices to take center stage.
5. Apple cobbler — but green!
Speaking of apples, how better to enjoy your cannabis than mixed amongst a delightful blend of vanilla-and-cannabis infused oats, apples and brown sugar–served steaming hot with a scoop of chilled vanilla ice cream?
This recipe is delicious, and makes it so easy to add cannabutter to the mix if you’re interested in delving into the world of cannabutter recipes. You can find a solid beginner cannabutter recipe here, which calls for 14 grams of bud of cannabis, a large pot, a fine mesh strainer (you can make a coffee filter work) and butter. You’ll simply melt and mix the butter and cannabis together, simmer for a couple hours, strain, and store in the fridge.
6. Throw a bonfire.
Do a little BYOW event where you build a giant bonfire (within city’s legal limitations of course), everyone brings their favorite strain, and you enjoy edibles and smoke to your heart’s content!
Sativa varieties are great for social events because they relieve any social anxiety, help encourage conversation, and make people relax and open up. We love these fun mango gummies or White Runtz L&B from Leaf and Bud.
7. Take a roadtrip to Lansing for Flower Expo.
Michigan’s premier cannabis tradeshow is designed to bring buyers to high-quality brands while enjoying the brands’ products, foods, and beverages on site.
The tradeshow’s goal is to provide meaningful connections between attendees, fostering partnerships and sales. Gather a couple of your friends and make a day out of it!
