Chilaquiles, Crepes and More at The Jagged Fork

When we walked up to The Jagged Fork on a late Sunday morning, we were at first daunted by the large groups of people waiting outside the door. We put our names on the waitlist and highly expected an estimated wait time of at least 30 minutes to an hour, based on the amount of people waiting. Even when we were told we would be seated in 15 minutes, it was hard to believe, that is until we were seated within minutes of our estimated wait time.

This is all to say, whatever system The Jagged Fork is operating in order to get people seated and happily fed in a timely manner is certainly working — and other local spots should take notes!

While the space is on the smaller side, they make the most out of every inch in order to comfortably fit customers.

The diverse menu at The Jagged Fork ranges from almost dessert-like pancakes to Mexican classics, such as chilaquiles and breakfast tamales.

Whatever your flavor palate of choice is, The Jagged Fork is sure to have a pancake which aligns with your favorite dessert. To name a few, they serve cinnamon swirl, chunky monkey, red velvet and oreo pancakes.

They also have a variety of crepes and french toast options on their menu. I tried the Cloud Nine crepes — three crepes filled with house made strawberry cream cheese, macerated fresh berries and bananas and topped with fruit, berry compote, whipped cream and powdered sugar.

By the end of the meal, this plate of fluffy crepes, fresh fruit and creamy filling was completely clean.

We also ordered a side of bacon and Build Your Own Omelet. The generously portioned omelet found a balance between the egg and the toppings of cheese, bacon and mushrooms.

One of their more unique french toast menu items is the Elvis  — challah french toast crusted with graham crackers, stuffed with peanut butter, house made banana cream cheese and bacon and topped with fresh bananas and berry compote.

To pair with your meal, The Jagged Fork offers hot coffee, hot and iced tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, soft drinks and assorted juices. Alcoholic beverages are also available at the Ann Arbor location, including the popular espresso martini.

The Jagged Fork has multiple locations in Michigan including Rochester Hills, Grosse Pointe Farms, Lathrup Village, West Bloomfield and Dearborn Heights.
