Here’s what’s happening locally this month in Washtenaw County: openings, closings, and business updates in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Plymouth and more.

Openings

Spirit Halloween has recently opened at Briarwood Mall, 602 Briarwood Circle, Ann Arbor. It is located in the former Forever 21 space. Spirit Halloween in a national Halloween retailer selling seasonal costumes, decorations and more.

Orijin Bakery is now open at 617 E Liberty St, Ann Arbor. This roots back to The Boro, the bakery at The Dixboro Project. The menu is made up of croissants, pastries, sandwiches, bread, coffee and more.

Trading Card Factory is now open at 401 E Liberty St, Ste 1A, Ann Arbor. They sell Pokemon cards, sports trading cards and more. They also plan to host events and tournaments.

L.L.Bean will open at Briarwood Mall at 204 Briarwood Cir Ste G145B, Ann Arbor on Oct. 16. This Maine-based outdoor lifestyle retailer only has one other location in Michigan

Juicy Kitchen has reopened after restoring the space after a fire that happened Sept. 2025. The cafe is known for breakfast, lunch, baked goods and more.

Casey’s Tavern has opened its second location at 2000 Commonwealth Blvd., the former location of Carson’s American Bistro. The original location of Casey’s Tavern remains open at 304 Depot St.

Bank of Ann Arbor recently opened a new location in Farmington Hills at 31000 Northwestern Hwy Ste 150, Farmington Hills.
