Openings
Northstar Bank at 3040 Lohr Rd., Ann Arbor recently opened. This is the bank’s only Ann Arbor location.
Strive Ann Arbor is now open at 4750 Venture Dr. Suite 400, Ann Arbor. Strive Ann Arbor is a new coworking facility which encourages innovation and collaboration.
Farah Zaid’s Allstate Insurance agency is now open at 2750 Carpenter Rd, Ann Arbor.
Toastique is now officially open at 200 E Washington St, Ann Arbor. This new unique eatery is known for their specialty toasts, smoothies, cold-pressed juice, coffee and more.

House Of Chimney Cakes Café will open at 216 S 4th Ave, Ann Arbor on Aug. 31. Chimney cakes are a Hungarian tradition that consists of sweet dough baked in a cylindrical shape. At House Of Chimney Cakes Café, they top these sweet chimney cakes with ice cream and fun toppings such as cookies, candy and fruit. They also sell milkshakes.
Q Bakehouse & Market has reopened at 1608 Jackson Ave., Ann Arbor. They temporarily closed this spring due to permit issues. This Asian American bakery sells handmade pastries and craft coffee.
Phoenix Custom Framing & Art Gallery is now open at 104 W Michigan Ave., Saline. This picture frame shop welcome’s walk-ins.
Molly’s Cupcakes is now open downtown Ann Arbor at 617 East Liberty Street
Ann Arbor. This cupcake shop has other locations in Ohio, Nashville, Chicago, New York and Iowa.
Closing
Big Lots will be closing soon at 2850 Washtenaw Ave., Ypsilanti. This is one of four stores closing in Michigan.
ABC Group Sales & Engineering Inc. will be closing its Saline plant at 1294 Beach Ct., on or around December 31. All of its employees will be laid off.
