Here’s what’s happening locally this month in Washtenaw County: openings, closings, and business updates in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Plymouth and more.

Changes

The Sun Times News, a newspaper covering Saline, Dexter, Chelsea and Milan, was purchased by TRUiC in Ann Arbor. The founder and CEO of TRUiC is Nagabhushanam “Bobby” Peddi.

Ann Arbor Observer was recently purchased by The Ann Arbor District Library. The publication will continue to operate independently under its new ownership.

Opening

Recess Work & Play Cafe is now open at 208 South Ashley St. This downtown Ann Arbor business is a play café that serves food, coffee and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. While parents enjoy their refreshments, kids can have fun in the play area.

Occupational Care Services is now open at 6276 Jackson Road, Suite D, Ann Arbor. They offer 24/7 mobile onsite services, injury care, asbestos physicals  and more.

VEG Ann Arbor (ER for Pets) will be holding a ribbon cutting on Thursday Oct 30 from 11:30am- 12:00pm at 3157 Ann Arbor Saline Rd, Ann Arbor.

Closing

Starbucks at 1214 South University Ave. will be permanently closed on Friday, Oct. 31. The Starbucks is located in The Galleria Mall, which will be demolished for an apartment high-rise.
