Enjoy a Heirloom Tomato Dinner
On Sept. 1 at 6:30pm, celebrate tomato season at Zingerman’s Roadhouse with an evening centered on heirloom varieties sourced from local farms. This year’s dinner draws inspiration from Oaxacan cooking, with dishes including sopes with mole negro and cherry tomatoes, fish with salsa pasilla, pork in roasted tomato and green chile sauce, and summer squash in tomato sauce. Guests can also build their own plates at the restaurant’s popular heirloom tomato bar. The evening includes a presentation from We The People Opportunity Center and its new director, LaWanda Hollister.

Whale Islands Wines partners with O&W, Inc.
Whale Islands Wines has selected Ann Arbor for its Southeast Michigan debut, partnering with Ypsilanti-based O&W, Inc. to bring its distinctive wines to local retailers, restaurants and venues. The New Zealand-born brand offers a Sauvignon Blanc and French Red Blend in 300ml resealable aluminum bottles, a format designed for portability and casual occasions. Each container holds about two glasses of wine and can be resealed for later.
Pretzel Bell’s new menu uplifts Michigan businesses
Pretzel Bell has launched a new menu which features local food. Its “From Our Neighbors” Initiative highlights food from businesses from Ann Arbor and throughout Michigan. Ann Arbor partners include Zingerman’s, Blank Slate Creamery and Sparrow Market. Among the many other Michigan partners include Louie’s Meats from Traverse City and Grand River Bakery from Manchester.
