Ever wonder what it would be like to live in a painting? To actually walk around in a canvas created by one of the world’s most celebrated artists? Beyond Van Gogh is coming to Detroit, giving viewers an experience and perspective of the artist’s life that is unlike any journey before!
This ticketed event is sure to bring the work of Vincent Van Gogh closer to you. This imaginative and immersive presentation was created specifically for this unique time in history by world-renowned audiovisual designers. The projection technology was created to bring visitors into the engaging world of Van Gogh— literally. The presentation uses his dreams, thoughts, and words to drive the experience as a narrative.Â
Each projection screen will light up with lights, colors, and shapes that will bring you further into his wonderful works. Van Gogh’s pieces will escape their frames and invite you to come and sit under a starry sky, or live in a field of flowers. Using Van Gogh’s words played with a symphonic score will bring a new appreciation for this artist, a tortured genius who struggled with mental illness during his time.
Each walk-through of the exhibition will take about an hour and each ticket is timed. The exhibit also allows for social distancing, and the staggered ticket times will allow staff to clean and ensure the safety of all attendees. There is also hand sanitizer throughout the exhibit and venue, and contactless transactions. Masks will be required inside the venue.
The exhibit has been selling out quickly, so be sure to pick up your tickets here. The event will take place at TCF Center, formally Cobo Center. The Beyond Van Gogh exhibit will take place from June 25 until mid-August, giving you ample time this summer to see it.
