Eat tacos from a Classic London Double Decker Bus

Inventive Tacos with a Twist

The 1923 Menu Board full of unique appetizers and tacos.

Calling all taco foodies! Who’s ready for some tacos with a twist? Husband and wife owners Aaron and Miriam Orr are striving to redefine the food service industry norm and status quo with a fusion of inventive taco flavors that span the globe.

1923, Michigan’s very first open top double decker food truck, will be opening soon.

On their menu, you will find seven signature tacos with themes ranging from Caribbean and Arabic to Korean and Japanese plus some good ol’ down home Southern cooking thrown in for good measure.

Each taco is $5.50 or you can get three for $15.

They will also serve a tempting assortment of appetizers ranging in price from $5 to $8 and your gastro experience wouldn’t be complete without trying one of five flavors of rolled ice cream for $6.

Buses Aren’t Just for Transportation

The Orrs transformed the classic London double decker into a bustaurant named for the year the first engine-powered double decker bus was released in London.

With over 20 years of hospitality and food service experience between them and five beautiful children, it is important to them to offer an all inclusive atmosphere focused on family, friends, and the community.

Where is 1923?

It might be a little tricky to find 1923, but don’t give up! It is tucked way back in the corner of the parking lot on the corner of Miller Avenue and North 1st Street in downtown Ann Arbor. Your super sleuthing will be well worth the effort. If all else fails, just follow your nose!

The Orrs have successfully created an inviting and rather peaceful atmosphere. First off, the eye-catching red bus itself, like those usually seen on the streets of London, is certainly a unique site.

Nestled in a shady corner, you can almost make believe you’re kicking back in a wooded wonderland. The most scenic place to dine is atop the second story of the bus, but there is also patio seating complete with faux grass and colorful umbrellas.

1923 should be open by the week of Sept. 19 after a bit of a delay due to electrical issues. Call ahead to make sure they are ready for your patronage. Your taste buds will thank you.
