Prime Eatery is a little bit out of the way in the Courtyard, a collection of single level eateries along Plymouth Road.

Inside view of the Prime Eatery. The latest edition to the eclectic collection of restaurants is a fine edition to the diversity of the food that makes it such a reliable favorite for the North Campus crowd. It is also a fully halal option, according to the company’s Instagram account.

The Courtyard is remarkable for being such a quiet and intimate place so close to Plymouth Road, one of Tree Town’s most vital main drags. Once inside you’ll find a tasteful and calm blue and brown interior with comfortable seating, but realistically, this is a place for takeout.

The fare on hand is traditional American food with a foody twist. Their specialty is taking the take the flavor up to eleven with additional spices.

The sauce of the Mexicana burger for example is a lovely spicy treat that pokes out of the cheese of what would otherwise be a rather forgettable double cheese burger and turns it into a delightful treat. The mac and cheese bites are fun appetizers that are on absolutely nobody’s diet, but are worth it anyway. Pro-tip: While most everyone is going to eat these things hot, we thought they are actually better room temperature or cold.

Prime Eatery fits perfectly into the little collection of little restaurants that characterizes the strip mall. If you live in and around North Campus or the neighborhoods surrounding it, it is definitely worth taking a chance on if you just want to pick up a quick dinner on your way home.

The company has another location at the corner of Schaffer Road and Michigan Avenue in Dearborn. Another location in Livonia is also in the works, Prime Eatery said on Insta. Prices range $4-13.
