Bellanina Day Spa Moves to North Main Home

Bellanina Day Spa has moved—and their new location at 415 North Main Street looks great.

“I love it. It’s still close proximity to Kerrytown, but not as traffick-y” said Beth Straszwski, who has been a regular at Bellanina Day Spa for years. “I like the old house conversion to the day spa.”

The former house that they have signed a three year lease for is a handsome federalist two story structure near the intersection with Kingsley and Beakes. They now have their own parking lot out back, accessible via the alley running between Main and Ashley.

Kelly Chalou, the director of operations, said that in moving to the new space, Bellanina Day Spa “has a new energy. It’s so bright and light. One of the largest pluses I would say for our clients, as well as our employees, is now we have parking in the back.”

They now have five rooms, efficiently laid out and tastefully appointed. Most of the original fittings appear to survive, which when matched with Bellanina Day Spa minimalist décor has a really calming effect as soon as you walk inside.

Turn right after you cross the small, old fashioned porch, and you will find yourself in the front parlor, turned reception. There are four big and comfy-looking armchairs for you to wait in. Three of the rooms are upstairs—including a tanning room

The spa does “a full spectrum of healing day spa services including massages, facials, organic spray tans, waxes, body treatments, lashes and brows” according to their website. Bellanina Day Spa is open from 10am to 7pm, Tuesday through Friday, Saturday from 10am to 6pm., and Sunday from 11am to 6pm. They are closed on Mondays.

The fifth room is the largest, and you access it through Chalou’s office. This is the couples room at the back. The curtains make the room very private, but the room is still awash with light due to the windows on three sides and two big skylights that are each directly over the beds.

The spa is also handicapped accessible because of the back room. The porch has a few steps, but people who are in wheelchairs or on crutches can enter through a ramp on the side.

“This is wonderful,” said Vicki Ramirez, a first timer to Bellanina Day Spa visiting from Miami.. When asked how this location compares to spas in Florida, she answered “It’s so much more relaxing.”
