If you’re interested in having a better understanding of how city government works, the Ann Arbor Citizens Academy, founded in 2017 as a sister academy to the successful Ann Arbor Police, Fire and Courts Academy, will present classes once a week for nine weeks beginning January 22. To educate the public on area infrastructure on both a small and large scale, the Academy also aims to inspire members of the community to take a more active role in area government. Applications for the 2020 course are open until December 14. a2gov.org.
