OhGeesy Brings GEEZYWORLD Tour November 18 to The Blind Pig

For OhGeesy, it’s time to bring some West Coast party-style hip-hop to Tree Town.

The rising Los Angeles hip-hop artist and revered Shoreline Mafia member plans to ignite The Blind Pig stage November 18 with his infectious beats, fiery hooks and speedy rhymes.

“I’m super excited, and it’s been like two years since I did a real tour,” said Alejandro Coranza, aka OhGeesy, who’s currently embarking on a 17-date U.S. tour through November 22.

“I just finished my album rollout, and that was really hard work, but it was such a good time at the same time. This tour is kind of like my vacation because I love performing more than anything in the world, and right now, I’m just focused on having fun.”

OhGeesy promises to bring that same fun, energetic sensibility to his first Ann Arbor live show, which may feature some surprise bespectacled Motor City guests.

“I gotta throw on my Cartiers once I get there, and I gotta drive up to Detroit and buy some new Cartiers. Then, I’m going to bring all my Detroit homies out,” said Coranza. “There’s going to be a lot of Cartiers in the building, and everybody should wear their Cartiers out, too.”

In addition to his stylish persona, OhGeesy’s live set spotlights bold tracks from his debut solo mixtape, GEEZYWORLD, as well as past Shoreline Mafia favorites.

Released in August, GEEZYWORLD includes 11 earworm tracks packed with star-studded collaborations featuring DaBaby, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Moe Faygoo, Central Cee and others. From start to finish, the reflective 30-minute mixtape celebrates aiming high and moving forward with self-confidence.

“I just try to make all my music to be a vibe for me because I feel like life is all about vibing out. If you’re not vibing out, then I don’t know what you’re doing. I just try to make my music a whole vibe,” said Coranza, who’s influenced by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.

OhGeesy brought a personal, fearless vibe to GEEZYWORLD after overcoming an initial bout of writer’s block at the start of the pandemic. To overcome his creative challenges, he adopted a healthier lifestyle.

“I was trying to record over and over, and I was like, ‘This is not working.’ I got healthy throughout the pandemic, so I started working out and eating better and that got my brain activity flowing,” Coranza said. “Then, I’d take long jogs and go to the beach and meditate, and my creative juices just started flowing. I got on a roll and did the whole GEEZYWORLD album in like a month or two.”

As part of that creative roll, OhGeesy has dropped a series of successful GEEZYWORLD  singles and videos, including “Get Fly” with DaBaby, “Secret Service,” “Big Bad Wolf” with YG and “Keeper” with A Boogie Wit a Hoodie. Collectively, all four tracks have racked up over 40 million streams on Spotify alone.

“It was cool just to get in with my friends and do what we do and make beautiful music,” said Coranza, who also collaborated with director Austin Simkins on his videos.

Since releasing GEEZYWORLD and going on tour, OhGeesy plans to drop new videos for “They Don’t Know” and “Who Else” with BlueBucksClan. He’s also considering a deluxe version of his latest mixtape in December as well as GEEZYWORLD 2.

“(The deluxe version) will have some extra tracks, and I think the tracks are just as good if not better to some people than the actual thing,” Coranza said. “I was going to put these on part two, and they’re songs that I really like, but I’m like ‘Nah, I just want to keep giving my fans what they need, so let me throw them on the deluxe.’”
