Shorts X Busch's Market – Citra Locals Lager

Busch’s Fresh Food Market, an Ann Arbor based supermarket chain with 15 locations in Southeast Michigan, recently released their first beer collaboration. The team at Busch’s linked up with Short's Brewing Company, out of Bellaire, Michigan to cook up a seasonal beer to be sold exclusively at Busch’s markets. John Hunter, Director of Marketing for Busch’s told us, “We’ve been wanting to partner with a brewery for a while now, and Short’s was open to it”.

The ensuing creation, Citra Locals, a seasonal dry hopped American lager, hit store shelves this week, with a limited amount of cases available this season. The beer has a crisp, clean taste, highlighted by fresh grapefruit aromas and complimentary hop flavors. Short’s elaborates on their website, “The light pilsen malt creates a soft and subtle flavor profile that finishes crisp and clean, once the initial hoppy perceptions subside.” The perfect beer to cool off with on those hot summer days.

The beer is available in bottles at every Busch’s location, but don't sleep, they only have 900 six packs available. If you’re dying to try it on draft, you can head up to Bellaire and visit the Short’s Pub. Busch’s is looking forward to future beer collabs with Michigan brewers. This is the first forray into beer that we have seen from a supermarket and we’re happy to hear that it won’t be the last.
