Ypsitasty celebrates its 15th year on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. The popular grub crawl takes place in Downtown Ypsilanti, Cross Street and Depot Town, with local restaurants offering tasty bites and other businesses staying open late to invite attendees to stop in.

“People can come into the community and get a taste of everything it has to offer,” said Diane Keller, president and CEO of the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Regional Chamber. “Stop in, have a bite and do some shopping. Try the food and taste test with friends, family members and coworkers.”

A trolley brought to the city by Golden Limousine International will drop off participants at the three neighborhood sites.

“You can hop on and hop off, so there’s an opportunity to get everywhere,” said Keller. Parking is available at the Ypsilanti Commerce Center lot, and several other parking locations are available downtown and in Depot Town.

Nineteen restaurants and cocktail clubs will be participating this year, and eight businesses will be open special hours. Between 250 and 270 tickets are usually sold. Participants will be directed to several different locations to pick up their tickets and start this self-guided grub crawl. You’ll receive a lanyard with a map to help guide your experience, and participating businesses will have a sign outside.

“There are so many different things you can try, so you can see what you like and come back,” said Keller. “Where else can you go and get that much food and wander with friends and family? Everyone has something different, it’s difficult to get to all locations in four hours.”
