Destination Ann Arbor Launches Local Distillery Pass

The organization encourages visitors to enjoy local breweries

Destination Ann Arbor has announced their new virtual distillery pass for locals and visitors in Washtenaw County. The pass includes 14 local breweries with a variety of craft beers and cocktails for guests to enjoy. Some breweries are even offering special discounts for passholders.

Mary Kerr, President and CEO of Destination Ann Arbor, says  “Not only will the Craft Pass bring people to Washtenaw County to visit our award-winning breweries and distilleries, but it will also move people to explore the area, stay longer, and return often. While here, people will shop at local businesses, dine at local restaurants, visit local attractions, and maybe extend their stay overnight.”

The installation of the distillery pass is one of the ways Washtenaw County is supporting the local economy through their Strategic Recovery Plan. They have teamed up with tech company Bandwango, a service that supports free and paid experiences from destinations made for both locals and visitors.

Destination Ann Arbor began reaching out to local businesses to add them to the distillery pass. Lauren Bloom, owner of Bløm Meadworks says “The Passport is a fun way to encourage visitors (and townies, too!) to explore new venues or revisit their favorites. As a small family business, we’re excited for the chance to share our ciders, meads, community space, and commitment to local sourcing with new customers!”

Those interested in the pass can sign up online with their name, e-mail address and phone number. A link to the pass is sent and directs the user to add the pass to their home screen for easy access. No apps or downloads are necessary! Passholders can check-in via GPS at all the breweries they visit.

The Ann Arbor Craft Pass is now live. Those interested can visit to sign up, view the brewery list and start visiting!

Washtenaw County breweries can still be added to the distillery pass. If you own a brewery or distillery in the Washtenaw Area, contact Katherine Johnson at to learn more.
