This non-profit boasts an impressive furniture and book section. They also sell clothes, home goods and craft supplies. A showroom next door hosts unique and higher-end items like postcards, purses and costumes.

The PTO Thrift’s profits support Ann Arbor Public Schools’ PTO, clubs and sports teams.

Shop clothing, antiques and books at the non-profit nestled on busy Washtenaw Ave. Ran completely by an all-female volunteer staff, the Ann Arbor Thrift Shop donates its profits to various community grants and emergency assistance to residents in need.

Ann Arbor Salvation Army

The S. State Street Salvation Army is one of the largest thrift stores in Ann Arbor. They host extensive clothing, furniture, electronics and miscellaneous household goods.

Diggers

Physical media is not dead at Diggers. They sell books, DVDs, CDs and more for $1.50 each. Located in the basement of Kerrytown Shops, their mission is to save media from landfills.

Friends of The ShareHouse

The ShareHouse hosts knick-knacks, furniture, and endless racks of clothes and shoes. Everything is priced at checkout, and there are deals for buying in bulk.

Kiwanis Thrift

While only open for a small window, the Kiwanis Thrift often has a line outside before opening. Their selection is vast and their prices are low. Aisles of office supplies and rows of furniture, they even have a whole room dedicated to sports and exercise gear.

The store wouldn’t be possible without volunteers and Kiwanis members. All profits go toward community support through the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Foundation.

SCRAP Creative Reuse

Nu2U Again

A Saline native non-profit, Nu2U Again sells clothes, home goods and furniture. They prioritize employing people with disabilities to foster independence. Nu2U Again partners with local organizations, giving financial support and hosting its own programs.

The Thrift Depot

Ypsilanti’s Thrift Depot sells an array of household goods, clothes and shoes. A shelf by the register hosts a “FREE ESSENTIALS” sign with hygiene kits and food as a part of their efforts to support Ypsilanti’s homeless and struggling folks.

Value World offers a huge selection of men’s, women’s and plus-sized clothing, on top of wall art, household goods, and electronics. It is not donation-based; instead, they buy inventory from recycling centers and retailers to fill out their stores.
