FoolMoon & FestiFools Returns April Fools’ Weekend

Partnering with AADL for Workshops Starting in March

This April Fools weekend gear up for carnival-esque public art displays and celebrations put on by WonderFool Productions.

For its 12th year, FoolMoon and FestiFools celebrates bringing random art to the streets of Ann Arbor over April Fools Weekend. Bizarre art, reminiscent of kidlike magic and colorful mayhem, will be dispersed around downtown Ann Arbor.

WonderFool Productions empowers the communities of Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti to connect through the inclusive, illumination, and transforming power of creativity. Through collaborating with local partners like artists, schools, universities, libraries, and more, WonderFool Productions enlists creators and organizes public art experiences and creative learning opportunities for everyone to join.

FoolMoon 2022: Alice in WonderFools

This year’s FoolMoon will be Friday, April 1 from 6–10 pm—participants can participate in person or virtually.

Kerrytown, Main Street, and State Street will be peppered with luminaries, and WonderFool Productions invites participants joining in the Stroll + Roll to imagine, dress up as, and curate anything from Mad Hatter tea parties to flamingo croquet. FestiFools partners with Ann Arbor District Library

FestiFools returns on Sunday, April 3rd from 4—5 pm and will be on State Street, from S. University to William Street. The FestiFool puppets, zany mini-parade floats, will be returning this year to FestiFools—created by students of The University of Michigan Lloyd Scholars for Writing and the Arts.

The Ann Arbor District Library has partnered to help co-produce FestiFools this year. There will be free community luminary and puppet-making workshops every Sunday in March from 10 am to 4pm in Ann Arbor District Library’s new warehouse located at 265 Parkland Plaza—all ages are welcome.

All events and workshops will be designed with social distancing taken into account, and everyone will be urged to mask up. If there are any questions visit WonderFool Productinons website or contact them directly at wonderfulproductions@gmail.com.
