Dorrance Dance at UMS on Feb. 21-22

On February 21 and 22 Dorrance Dance will be coming to the University Musical Society. Artistic director and choreographer, Michelle Dorrance, founded Dorrance Dance in 2011. She was the MacArthur “Genius” Award recipient and grew up performing with the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble. She later appeared with STOMP, Manhattan Tap and more.

“Michelle Dorrance’s 10-dancer company reflected plenty of racial, physical, and stylistic diversity yet could deliver complex unison footwork with a precision matching any cookie-cutter tap corps of the past.” –Los Angeles Times

Her company will feature three works, including Myelination, Jungle Blues, and Three to One.
