Here’s what’s happening locally this month in Washtenaw County: openings, closings, and business updates in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Plymouth and more.

Opening

MoonWinks Tavern held their grand opening on June 28. Located at 5151 Plymouth Rd, Ann Arbor, MoonWinks is a small town cafe and tavern that has been serving the Dixboro community since 2006.

Yours Truly event space is now open at 114 W. Michigan Ave in Ypsilanti. Yours Truly offers an event space for birthday parties, showers, special occasions, pop ups and weddings. Other services include balloon decor, rentals, bartending, event planning and coordination. 

BYOC Co. is now open at 550 Forest Ave Suite 4, Plymouth. BYOC Co. (Bring Your Own Container) aims to reduce single-use plastic consumption by allowing customers to refill their own containers from home with eco-friendly, ethically-produced household cleaning and personal care products.

Brandy Melville opened a new location at 3070 Washtenaw Ave Ste. 103, Ann Arbor. This is the first Michigan location for the company.

After closing during the height of the pandemic, Ann Arbor Brewing Company recently purchased The Session Room and reopened as Ann Arbor Brewing Company Session Room. Ann Arbor Brewing Company Session room is a restaurant and beer garden with over 70 beers on tap from around the world and is located at 3685 Jackson Rd, Ann Arbor. 

Coming soon

Uplift is a new LGBTQ+ bar coming to Ann Arbor late this summer at 210 S. First St. in the heart of the city’s downtown.

Curiouser Clay is moving to a new location at 120 W Michigan Ave in Jackson. Currently located at 13223 McKinley Rd in Chelsea, the new space will be open for a soft launch on Nov. 4. 

Echelon Kitchen + Bar is coming to Ann Arbor later this summer at 200 South Main Street. Echelon is a farm-to-fork, elevated casual dining experience with locally sourced ingredients.

Closing

Sweetwaters is closing after ten years of business at UM Liberty as of June 23.
