The Blue Llama Jazz Club, in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan, doubles as an established music venue and restaurant. This location unites the “Love of Food” with the “Love of Music” by presenting live, local, and national jazz music with Executive Chef Louis Goral’s jazz inspired menu of American shared plates, to provide a remarkable dining and listening experience.
The Blue Llama Jazz Club is pleased to welcome the debut of award winning pianist Emmet Cohen for “A Dinner and a Show” in which there will be live performances on Thursday, November 4th at 6pm and 8:30pm.
As one of his generation’s pivotal figures in music and related arts, Emmet Cohen is a multifaceted American jazz pianist and composer. Music magazine Downbeat praised his “nimble touch, measured stride, and warm harmonic vocabulary” that is employed to communicate with other musicians and audiences. Leader of the “Emmet Cohen Trio” and creator of the “Masters Legacy Series,” Cohen is an internationally acclaimed jazz artist and dedicated music educator. He was the winner of the 2019 American Pianists Awards and the Cole Porter Fellow of the American Pianists Association and much more. As a piano student at age three, Cohen holds jazz piano degrees from the Manhattan School of Music (M.M.) and the University of Miami (B.M.). In addition, Emmet Cohen has also performed, recorded, or collaborated with many renowned artists.
Advanced tickets for the Blue Llama Jazz Club event are $85.00 and pre-pay for a 4 course curated chef’s tasting and a set from the amazing, dynamic jazz trio. The Emmet Cohen Trio will feature Emmet Cohen on piano, Kyle Pool on drums and Russell Hall on double bass.
