Sunday, June 5th in Ann Arbor Michigan, will mark the 35th Annual National Cancer Survivors Day – Celebration of Life!
“Anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life is a cancer survivor,” said the National Cancer Survivors Day® Foundation.
People around the world recognize loved ones, fellow survivors and raise awareness about the day-to-day battles people fighting cancer go through.
On the June 5th, 2022, at the Concordia University’s Earhart Manor/Tent, a Survivors Day or CSD event will be hosted in honor of National Cancer Survivors Day. This event will be hosted by the Cancer Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor in partnership with The University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center.
This event is being held to commemorate the milestones of those battling cancer or others that have been touched by the devastation of cancer. This event will go from 1pm – 3:30pm and will be free and open to the public.
This Survivors Day event will be providing snacks, entertainment, a keynote speaker and will be presenting issues on survivorship.
There are 16.9 million cancer survivors in the U.S. By the year 2030, the number of cancer survivors, unfortunately, is said to increase to 22.2 million. The more individuals affected by cancer, the more education is necessary.
Along with the illness itself, cancer causes a domino effect of other issues in one’s life as well.
