Fall events are around the corner, including A2 Artoberfest on October 10 and 11—an event celebrating many forms of art and stretching across Main Street, from Washington to Williams.
The lineup of artists looks truly spectacular. If you’re looking for something to wear, jewelers such as Renate Favour make one-of-a-kind pieces for the avant-garde; Mater Jewelry and Diane Mater’s work would make a delightful gift for someone with sophisticated style and a young soul.

If you’re looking for something to bring home, check out ceramicists such as Andrea Deshano, who has crafted some spectacularly evocative pots, each with a unique expression. Her style is whimsical, slightly off-kilter and magically fun. If you’re looking for something sleek and beautifully minimalist–but not boring–look for Kelsey Angeli’s woodworking. Her pieces are stunningly simple and organic.
Michigan painters such as Landon Peacock are bringing soft lines and dreamlike colors to the show. His style is beautiful and appreciative of nature with an almost melancholy energy.
If you’re in the mood for some good tunes, Artoberfest has a great lineup of locally-based musicians ready for you. Lorain Janine (taking the stage from 3:30-5:30pm October 11), is a singer-songwriter and violinist, who’s been developing her craft since her school days. Rochelle Clark, fellow Michigan-based singer-songwriter, will close out the musical performances on the 11.
