Sweetgreen is a specialty organic salad and bowl place that recently entered the Ann Arbor food scene.
Located at 311 S State St, customers will have the option to choose from Sweetgreen’s selection of salads, bowls, and plates, each of which contributes to the chain’s mission to “build healthier communities by connecting people to real food.”
Other Michigan locations are in Birmingham and Troy. Another Ann Arbor is coming soon to Arbor Hills at 3070 Washtenaw Ave.
The Ann Arbor location of Sweetgreen is a continuation of the Sweetgreen founders’ vision that fast food should not sacrifice quality for convenience.
As college students who found that they often had to choose between slow, healthy options and fast, unhealthy food, Sweetgreen’s founders were inspired to open their first location in Washington DC, to provide community members with the exact eating options they had struggled to find.
Sweetgreen’s commitment to the communities it serves through its various locations does not end at the quality of its products. The chain has also prioritized transparency in information about its supply network and the steps they are taking to promote sustainability, all to empower customers and partners to understand the value of “real” food.
With options that satisfy customers’ needs for variety, convenience, and quality, Sweetgreens is working towards its goal of redefining the concept of “fast food.”
Some options include the miso bowl, harvest bowl and crispy rice bowl. The crispy rice bowl includes blackened chicken, raw carrots, shredded cabbage, cucumbers, cilantro, roasted almonds, crispy rice, warm wild rice, arugula and a squeeze of lime topped with spicy cashew dressing.
