Here’s what’s happening locally this month in Washtenaw County: openings, closings, and business updates in Ann Arbor, Saline, Chelsea, Dexter, Ypsilanti, Milan and more.

Openings

Blank Slate Creamery is opening a new production site at 7879 Jackson Road Suite C, Ann Arbor. At this new location they will produce their well-known ice creams as well as other desserts. The other Ann Arbor location is located at 300 W Liberty Street.

Big Blue Swim School is now open at 914 W. Eisenhower Parkway, Ann Arbor. At this swim school trained professionals teach lessons to kids ages 3 months to 12 years. 

Modern Living Collective is now open at 2455 W Stadium Boulevard Ann Arbor. They are a real estate brokerage that aims to help clients from start to finish.

Socotra Coffee House is now open at 3130 Packard St, Ann Arbor. This coffee house serves traditional Yemeni coffees and pastries.

Bloodroot herb shop is now open at 208 W Michigan Avenue, Ypsilanti. They sell a large variety of herbs, zines, clothing and more. Classes and consultations are also available.

Mochinut is opening a location in Ann Arbor at 1771 Plymouth Road Suite 103. This new spot will sell mochi donuts, Korean rice flour hotdogs, bubble tea drinks and soft serve ice cream. The concept of the mochi donut came from Hawaii and it is a combination of American donuts and Japanese mochi. 

Dunkin’ Donuts will soon be downtown Ann Arbor at 201 E. Liberty Street. This chain will be going in the previous Cloverleaf Restaurant storefront. 

Closing 

Rock paper scissors is closing both stores downtown Saline at 104 W. Michigan Avenue and 106 W. Michigan Avenue following a mulch fire at Rock Paper Scissors Junior. The Ann Arbor location of Rock Paper Scissors is still open at 216 S Main Street, Ann Arbor.
