Virtual Event: Tasting Europe’s Four Most Beloved Cheeses
Essex Street Cheese is the New York/London-based cheese selection company that has supplied Zingerman’s with our favorite versions of Europe’s most famous cheeses. They only import a handful of cheeses and they work hand in glove with the cheesemakers whose wares they import.
Rachel Juhl leads the outreach for Essex Street Cheese in addition to carrying a bunch of certifications and degrees. She’s spent her entire professional life visiting cheese makers, working with them, sharing their story with cheesemongers around the country and educating all of us on what makes these cheeses and the people behind them so special. She’ll be joined by one of the Cheese World’s All-Stars via satellite and together they’ll share how to taste and select like a pro.
Rachel will guide us through a tasting of four of Europe’s most famous cheeses: Dutch gouda, French Comté, Spanish Manchego, and Italian Parmigiano Reggiano.
Rachel will also show us all how to entertain with cheese and how to share what we’ve learned without sounding like know-it-alls. Nibble, listen, learn, and laugh your way through a flight of Europe’s most famous cheeses!
All you'll need are two details: the address where we can ship the food, and the email address where we can keep the recipient informed about what's to come as the event grows near.
The class will start at 3 pm ET on Saturday, June 12 and last about an hour.
We’ll ship enough cheese for a generous tasting with four people (or for one person to have leftovers after the event). You'll receive them by Thursday, June 10. Try to not eat them all before the class!
The class will take place over Zoom. You'll need a device to connect to Zoom and a high speed internet connection to attend. We'll include instructions getting connected to Zoom in the box (and we’ll email the instructions, too).
The event is hosted by Zingerman’s with special guest stars.
What’s included in your shipment
Four European cheeses for a total of over two pounds of cheese, plus a tasting accompaniment to pair with the cheese and a loaf of Zingerman’s Artisan Bread.
