Theatre NOVA Presents “the ripple, the wave that carried me home”

Theatre NOVA, 410 W Huron, Ann Arbor, is presenting “the ripple, the wave that carried me home” by Christina Anderson from March 22-April 14.

The production, “the ripple, the wave that carried me home,” is set in 1960s Kansas and is centered around a Black family as they fight to integrate public swimming pools. The youngest daughter begins to resent her father when he pressures her to participate, which she reflects on years later.

It is directed by Lynch Travis and features actors Bryana Hall, Yolanda Davis, Tayler Jones and Jonathan Jones. On the production team is Paul Taylor on scenic design, Jeff Alder on lighting design, Micha Mallett on costume design and Briana O’Neal as the stage manager and on sound design and props.

Theatre NOVA offers a subscription program, giving subscribers the option to save on single ticket prices. Through this subscription, seats for the rest of the plays of the 2023-24 Season and admission to the Michigan Playwrights Festival are guaranteed. A Flex Pass is also offered if patrons prefer to pick and choose their productions. Subscriptions and Flex Passes can be purchased online.

Performances are on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. A mask is required for all Thursday performances. Tickets are $28, however, they also offer pay-what-you-can tickets. Tickets can be purchased online, or in-person an hour before each performance.
