Event Date/Time

Jul 25, 2012 to Sep 5, 2012

Description

2012 marks the 20th anniversary of Motawi Tileworks, Ann Arbor's artisan tile manufacturer. This exhibit explores how this award-winning business grew from a stall at the Artisan's Market to a nationally-known company by blending art, science and technology with hand-craftsmanship. Get an inside look at how Motawi creates and adapts designs, transforms a lump of clay into a finished tile, mixes custom glazes, and turns mistakes into process improvements.
